REVEALED: The 3 Greek Island Restaurants Made for the Great Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Honeymoon Chowdown
We're serving exactly where the hungry lovebirds would love to nosh the most
We know they like lazy Mediterranean-style dining.
We know they are married.
And we know where Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might show up to chow down this summer: the Greek islands. Based on how we think some of our top pics would align with theirs — and maybe yours — here are our top three:
SCALA, MATALA (CRETE)
Scala in Matala is a one-of-a-kind and labor of love for owner Manos Tsabolakis. We first met Manos about six years ago and the restaurant, which perches directly above the deep blue sea, has undergone a Mykonos-style transformation since then, only without the Mykonos prices. But don’t be fooled, this is an upscale affair, and though it is relaxed we’re talking about the best food in busy little Matala. The seafood is sea-fresh and creatively prepared, the good ervice as warm and reliable as the Cretan sun.
We once ate at this hype spot. A salad was consumed, and no fish. Oranges were involved. Tom Hanks, ScarJo, celebs, yadda yadda but it’s by the beach and those kinds of places are actually not so easy to come by in little Sifnos. Ω for Omega, btw.
Theo Pizza and Beer Taverna, Ios
The perfect hideaway spot for the hungry tight end! Theo prepares his dough over the course of three painstaking days. The result of this patience is a structural masterpiece —perfectly light and delightfully crispy, yet maintaining just the right amount of internal chew without ever crossing into toughness. It is a revelation that requires no spin room to interpret.
The crown jewel of the menu, for my dough anyway, is the hot honey pizza. It is a symphony of maximum yum. It features a beautifully balanced local honey drizzled over rich, savory pepperoni sourced directly from Evros.
